Whether you’re sending out a care-package to your child at university, looking to spoil a friend with the latest novel from their favourite author, or simply selling something on Ebay, the chances are that you’ll need to package up a parcel for the sameday couriers. Unfortunately, there are a few mistakes that many people make when packaging their goods which can lead to the parcels becoming damaged in transit or even getting lost. That’s why it’s invaluable to take the time preparing your parcel properly, which is where these tips come in. Follow them, and all the sameday couriers out there will love you:

Always use the right materials when wrapping up parcels. One of the biggest mistakes that people make when sending parcels to their sameday couriers is to not use strong enough packaging. Both the tape used to secure any boxes and indeed the boxes themselves should be easily strong enough to keep their contents secure, otherwise you run the big risk of the contents breaking through the external shell and getting damaged: not something that you want to be worrying about.

Always leave space between the contents and the external box. Many people will struggle with damages to their parcels due to the misheld belief by many that tight packaging will lead to the parcel moving around less inside and subsequently receiving less knocks. However, what should actually happen is that there should be more than enough room to allow for substantial packing materials to pad out the parcel so that any impact will hit them rather than the item itself. Ideal materials for this include packing peanuts or bubble wrap, but any soft material will do an adequate job, and will certainly be better than no materials at all!

Always use original packing where possible. This is especially applicable when it comes to electronic goods such as DVD players or televisions. When these products were originally made, the box that they came in would have been designed specifically to be the optimum package for that product and to offer it the maximum security: after all, no manufacturer wants to always having to refund goods due to breaks that result from inadequate packaging! Therefore if you have the option of using the proper packaging, always do so. If you haven’t kept it, it might make sense to go to the store you bought it from and see if they have any spare boxes. You never know!

Always under-pack if possible. This is quite possibly the mistake 101 when it comes to keeping goods securely packaged. Whatever the wrapping and box that you use to keep your parcel from breaking through, overloading will nearly always lead to breakages or potential damage. Make sure that you weigh your product in advance to ensure it isn’t too heavy for your sameday couriers of choice to accept, as many will have a limit as to the type of parcel that they’re prepared to take on. Certain things simply cannot be sent unless by larger, more specialty couriers, so if your parcel won’t be accepted by typical sameday couriers, you might need to rethink whether you really need to post it!

Whatever you’re planning to send via Sameday Couriers, whether it be an important document or a present for a loved one, it’s important to ensure that you do all you can to make sure that the parcel gets there on time and in the best condition possible. That’s why these tips are here to help you get the postage and preparation right.
